Live and direct, survivors of the MITENI DISASTER – the ENVIRONMENTAL CRIME par excellence – an undefined group of musicians, artists, poets, listeners will unite outside the site of the FACTORY OF HORROR for a happening over an extended duration of time. They reflect – physically, symbolically, dreamily – on the permanence and impermanence of sounds and silences, of life and death. Inspired by the compositional principle – «listening to the sound of others is more important than what we ourselves produce» – for the entire circadian symbolic arc, the MESSAGE that from this place will propagate in the climatic universe, where we all live, takes on the form of an insubordinate, continuous, un-imprisonable SIGNAL: «LET’S FREE OURSELVES FROM THE PRECONSTITUTED STRUCTURES of evil and good through the action of respectful radical improvisation» – so that freedom is not a PRODUCT, but a COLLECTIVE MULTIVERSE PROCESS of respect for singular uniqueness. A composition to be raised as a defense against the social and environmental crimes implemented by UMANA PREPOTENZA, the capitalist arrogance that has generated the current unsustainable, hyper-industrial contemporaneity. Here everything is a commodity, and nothing is love, concrete. It is urgent to listen to the grace of the gift of life. It is urgent to listen to the human and the non-human. Starting from the roots of reality: ATTENTION on SILENCE, which speaks. Almost as if it were our first and last throb of life.

We invite activists to participate. A “poietic” microphone will remain open.
The aim of this radical artistic operation is to intervene without mediation in the processes of struggle and change necessary to emerge from the failure of the hyper-industrial capitalist model that has destroyed our territories – High Income Sacrifice Zone – precisely in the epicenter of social and environmental devastation created by PFAS, the eternal pollutants. We are facing the greatest pollution of water for human use in the Western world. We are faced with an unprecedented violation of fundamental human rights in the Global North, as pronounced by the UN Mission 2022. Approximately 4000 more deaths, compared to other areas of the same region with the same background noise in terms of contamination, are attested in the last 38 years in the red zone of Veneto. With the multifaceted fight – collected on the website of “our” Archipelago and Collective PFAS.land (information and action against environmental crimes) – much has already been achieved, but not enough. The downward mediation typical of late capitalist strategies always offers false solutions that only move the problem, creating new businesses, “contaminating” the activists themselves, domesticating them. We need to stop this modus operandi. Clearly saying things as they are and invoking the 4 points that are still open and decisive in the entire PFAS issue:
- the reclamation of the Miteni site (still unfinished).
- the blocking of all solutions for the criminal disposal of PFAS removed from aqueducts and industries (spreading of sludge in landfills and fields, incineration at numerous sites, in particular Fusina, Padua, Legnago, Ca’ del Bue, Schio).
- the acceleration of the progressive and total ban on PFAS (presented to the Chamber of Deputies in May 2023).
- the implementation of free access to blood and food tests for all Italian citizens living in risk areas (tests “armored” by the Veneto Region for years)
This can also be done with art. Or above all with art, triggering new imagination free from any conditioning of Power. From any subordination. Coming together in a large Sonorous Assembly – which will last 24 hours – where listening to the other will say more than any words cataloged by the logic of “pre-potere”, by human arrogance. Generating new sounds, new voices, unexpected prefigurations. Underlining the death of a criminal system and the life that is reconfigured.
We can change the world by imagining a radically new one.
